Visa and passports

Before you travel to Australia, you will need to apply for a visa. This is free of charge and can be done easily online. The visa is called eVisitor 651.

The processing time is generally around 4 days. We recommend that you bring a printed copy of your visa confirmation with you to Australia. You will also be required to have a passport that is valid for at least 6 months, to travel to Australia.

If you prefer, you can also apply for a visa at your local Australian Embassy. If you require any help, we can assist you. We have done this before! You will also need to bring a valid driver’s license, international driver’s licence and credit card in the name of the main driver.

Packing your bags

We will organise your dream trip to Australia and all you need to do is pack your bags! However, it is vital that you pack correctly to ensure you make the most of your holiday DownUnder. Where are you going? What kinds of activities will you be doing? What season will it be? These are all important factors to consider.

We recommend that you definitely bring comfortable walking shoes and clothes. Pack a good quality sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses. If you are concerned about insects, pack insect repellent too. A waterproof jacket is handy, as well as your swimwear and a towel (depending on where you are going). If you have any tours booked, please double-check what you may need.

And always check with your airline prior to your departure what your baggage limits are. However, for most airlines, the weight per piece should not exceed 32kg. Unless notified and approved in advance (e.g. for wheelchairs or medical supplies).

Immunisations & vaccinations

To travel to Australia you are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. You are considered fully vaccinated in Australia if you have received two doses of any Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved or TGA recognised COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days apart, and are at least 7 days post their second dose. Also if you have recently visited a yellow fever-infected country (within 6 days) of your arrival, you need a yellow fever vaccination certificate. If you have any questions, check with your doctor and with the Australian Department of Health before leaving home.

Australia’s time zones

Australia is divided into three time zones: Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST), Australian Central Standard Time (ACST) and Australian Western Standard Time (AWST).

The time difference between the UK and Australia, therefore, depends on which time zone you are in. We suggest that you add the regions you will visit on the world clock on your smartphone. This will hopefully help to save any confusion.

The time difference may also be affected by daylight savings. Which may add or minus an hour. Daylight savings occurs from October through the end of March.

Officially, Australian Daylight Saving Time begins on the first Sunday of October and ends on the first Sunday of April. However, not all parts of Australia are affected by daylight savings.
