Travel Australia at a relaxed pace and see the country through the eyes of the locals. We recommend spending a minimum of two to three nights at each place. By doing this, you can really experience and get to know each location. Instead of blasting past all of the ‘highlights’ and returning home exhausted.

Travelling through Australia for five or more weeks gives you so much flexibility. At a relaxed pace, you will be able to visit a variety of places, all unique and different and with a diversity of climates. We recommend taking a few domestic flights to save time driving. Where would you like to go?

Australia’s states and territories
Australia is 7.692 million km² in size with a population of approximately 25 million people. The country is divided into six states; Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia. There are also two territories, the Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory. Here, you will find the capital of Australia, Canberra.

Sit back and relax, tomorrow you will be in Australia. Enjoy the latest movies, read a book, take a nap - all while you are being served an assortment of food and drinks.

Or maybe go shopping in Singapore? Whatever it may be, we would love to discuss all the stopover possibilities together with you.
Language and money
The official language in Australia is Australian English. Similar to British English, you will have no trouble communicating with the locals, who love to share a story or three! Ask your hosts to teach you some Aussie slang words too. There are definitely a few quirky phrases to learn.
The Australian currency is the Australian dollar - AUD. Most standard credit cards such as Visa and Mastercard can be used throughout the country. The banks are usually open from 9.30 am-4 pm Monday to Thursday and until 5 pm on Friday, but it’s best to check with each branch directly. Some branches are open on Saturday mornings, generally until 1 pm.
Australian notes and coins are colourful and unique. They often have a range of Australian animals on them. The famous Australian (or Commonwealth) Coat of arms features an emu and a kangaroo. This can be found on various coins, including the 50 cent coin. Please note: Aussie coins can be typically heavy, especially if you have a collection in your pocket!
Best travel time
If you are a family with primary-aged children, we would suggest trying to travel during the ‘shoulder’ seasons. Spring and autumn is a great time to travel to Australia. Why? It is less busy. You miss the heat of the summer and the cold of the winter. In spring, everything is blooming and the animals are born. In autumn, the colours are spectacular and the air is crisp.
Would you like a holiday immersing yourselves in nature and wildlife? Beachside? Going island hopping? Or exploring the jewels of the outback? No matter what you are looking for, Australia has something for everyone. Due to the size of Australia, it also means there are many different types of climates. This also has an impact on when the best travel time is to suit you and your family.

How long can you spend in Australia?
The eVisitor 651 visa is valid for 12 months. This visa allows you to stay in Australia for up to a maximum of three months at a time. However, you are free to return again within the 12-month validity, and stay another three months. You must have proof that you are able to financially support yourself throughout the duration of your holiday.
