Get ‘off the beaten’ track with a local legend

Located within the Gladstone region is Seventeen Seventy. A tiny chilled-out coastal town, where the surf meets the reef. Seventeen Seventy sits on the tip of a peninsula along Queensland's coastline and is surrounded by estuaries, national parks and coastal rainforests.

The region also features the most northerly surf beaches of the eastern coast of Australia. And headlands with incredible views of the Pacific Ocean. The town was originally called Round Hill but was renamed Seventeen Seventy in 1970 to commemorate Captain Cook’s second landing in Australia.

Experience and encounter 1770 like a local with a local. Your guide, Arty, is a cool local surfer and an outdoor enthusiast. Arty will take you ‘off the beaten’ track and give you a tour around Agnes Waters and 1770. You will also venture into Deepwater National Park and Eurimbula National Park.

During your trip and depending on what you and your family would like to do, it is possible to try various activities. Go fishing or try some surfing! Discover the local flora and fauna with some bushwalking. Take a paddle on the Pacific Ocean with some kayaking or have a go at some Suppen (Stand up paddle boarding)!
