Admire penguins in their natural habitat

Unravel pure coastal bliss in Bicheno. A seaside village on the east coast of Tasmania, 185 kilometres north-east of Hobart. Watch in awe as Bicheno’s resident population of blue penguins return after a day of fishing out at sea. A spectacle of nature as they waddle up the beach to their burrow.

The one hour tour starts around sunset. You will meet at the office located in the town centre of Bicheno. You will be taken to a private property which cannot be accessed by the public. Here, you can admire the penguins in their natural habitat.

Your knowledgeable local guide will tell you about the penguins' way of life. It is essential to respect the penguins and try not to disturb them. Therefore, please be aware that camera flashes and loud noises will scare them.
