Did you know?
It is possible to hike the length of New Zealand. The Te Araroa Trail stretches 3000 kilometres from Cape Reinga (the tip of the North Island) to Bluff (the edge of the South Island). To complete the entire trail takes approximately 5 months but of course, it is possible to hike sections of the trail and it is split into 10 regions.
Did you know?
New Zealanders love cricket and rugby, just like the United Kingdom. If you are a fan, be sure to check out a cricket match at Hagley Oval in Christchurch or the Basin Reserve in Wellington. For rugby enthusiasts, head to Eden Park in Auckland, Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin, or Sky Stadium, better known as the ‘Cake Tin’ in Wellington.

Is it your dream to hike the Milford Track? Or climb Mount Cook? Depending on which activities you would like to do in New Zealand, depends on when the best travel time is. Because some of your dream activities may be only available seasonal. If you do have an activity on your bucket list, let’s sit down and have a chat about it together. Hiking in New Zealand
New Zealand has 10 official “Great Walks”. These spectacular trails showcase the diverse landscapes of New Zealand. Glistening lakes, golden beaches, snow-capped mountains, native forests, deep gorges, sweeping valleys and flowing rivers. Lake Waikaremoana, Tongariro Northern Circuit, Whanganui Journey, Abel Tasman Coast Track, Heaphy Track, Paparoa Track, Routeburn Track, Kepler Track, Milford Track and Rakiura Track are the official 10 Great Walks. But, you don’t need to stick to these 10 to benefit from picturesque views. Walking trails are abundant with a range of difficulty levels and distances.
Golfing in New Zealand
Do you love golf? New Zealand is home to world-class courses with world-class views. There are 390 in total. New Zealand has the second-highest number of courses per capita in the world, only Scotland has a higher ratio. Cape Kidnappers Golf Course and Wairakei International Golf Course are two of our favourites.
Football in New Zealand
The national sport of New Zealand is rugby. The All Blacks, their national rugby team, won the Rugby World Cup three times, which is more than any other team in the world. During your visit to New Zealand, make sure you attend a rugby match to experience the ultimate Kiwi-culture.
What to wear in New Zealand
Thin light warm layers such as merino will keep you the most comfortable in New Zealand because of the changeable climate. They also take up less room in your bags so you can pack lighter, and you will want to pick up local items along the way.
We recommend bringing a waterproof rain and wind jacket, along with quick-drying walking or hiking pants. Also, thermal socks and under layers are great because they repel moisture efficiently, dry quickly and can be re-worn which is an important thing on long trips.
Drinking tap water in New Zealand
Tap water is generally safe to drink throughout New Zealand. We recommend you bring a reusable water bottle to refill throughout the day. This way you can ensure that you stay hydrated.
If you are planning to go on a hike or drive in a remote area, be sure to bring a large supply of water with you. Enough to last you a sufficient amount of time.
