Frequently asked questions
No, these New Zealand itineraries are sample routes rather than fixed packages. They are intended to give you ideas for what can be included, but your final route can be adapted around your travel dates, pace, interests and preferred style of accommodation. Every trip our specialists create is entirely personalised.
There are multiple factors that determine the final price of your New Zealand holiday: seasonality, how far in advance you're booking, what flight class you prefer, what level of accommodation you choose, and any special activities you might want to include. Our travel specialists will advise you on what is possible within your budget and suggest where to save and where it's worth spending a bit extra.
For most first-time visitors, we recommend a New Zealand itinerary that spends more time in the South Island, where you find the country’s classic dramatic scenery: mountains, lakes, glaciers, fiords, and wild coastlines. The North Island is still worth including for Māori culture, geothermal landscapes and warmer coastal regions, but we usually give the South Island the larger share of the trip.
