This is a unique, welcoming eco-farm retreat with two beautiful yurts on French Farm, Banks Peninsula. Your host Smokie D (aka Dave) barbecues a variety of locally sourced meats and seasonal vegetables to perfection over charcoal and wood. The view is expansive and tranquil during the day, but it's the night sky and the stargazing opportunities that make it special. From here you can enjoy all that the Banks Peninsula has to offer.
You will stay in the Yurt called Canopus or Sirius, named after the two brightest stars you can see in the Southern Hemisphere. The Yurt has a queen-size bed and a private bathroom and is insulated with natural wool, making it very cosy and cool in the summer. The Canopus Yurt has no electricity but is beautifully lit by solar lamps. Meals are served in Smokie D's cabin. Please note, there is no Wi-Fi at this location, so you can truly connect with your surroundings.
